A bombing of a primary school in the south of Iran killed at least 168 people, mostly children, in the deadliest attack on civilians in the war.
Videos of nearby attacks, satellite images of the damage, photos from the rubble and procurement records from the US military show the strike was most likely to have been conducted by Washington, using a US-made long-range Tomahawk missile. The Pentagon says it is investigating.
While such evidence has undermined US President Donald Trump’s attempt to blame others for the deadly attack, the two sides in the conflict remain locked in an information war.
