Fifty-five countries across six continents will build a global supply chain network to secure critical minerals for cars, smartphones, power grids and defence, aiming to curb China’s dominance.
Washington says the market is failing, noting China controls about 70% of raw materials and 90% of processing, underpinned by Belt and Road access in Africa, Latin America and Asia.
