Ukraine shows how budget drones are rewriting the rules of warfare

Traditional weapons costing millions of dollars are still used on today’s battlefields.
But they are increasingly supported, and sometimes replaced, by low-cost drones worth only a few hundred dollars.
The shift is transforming how wars are fought, favouring speed, precision and mass deployment.
In Ukraine, drones are being adapted rapidly to counter enemy tactics and reduce risks to soldiers.
The technology is allowing smaller forces to challenge better-equipped armies.

Al Jazeera’s Audrey MacAlpine reports from Kyiv on what this means for the future of fighting.
